The hospitalists are those physicians who manage the quality, inpatient medical health care of those individuals who have been referred to hospitals by their own doctor. The primary focus of the hospitalists is the hospitalized patient, often seeing patients from the emergency room through the critical care period and even participating in the planning for rehabilitation services.
